Transforming Into an Effective and Exceptional You!
What would your life look like if you embraced change?
As fast as buildings stand in today’s technology-driven world so is our progress and innovation. Mankind has never seen the bars of the scientific and technical world so high. Software updates, computers improve and technology evolves. Change is a natural phenomenon and we all must embrace it. Its the time we all to change and evolve ourselves to a effective and exceptional person. It builds your productivity, and activity and gives life pleasure and contentment. The perks of being an effective person don’t end here. It ends your stress and gives you joy and happiness in everything you do.
The blog aims to talk about the seven habits for transforming and speak about developing habits as mentioned by Stephen Covey after his deep research of more than 200 pieces of successful works of literature in past. These habits are major ingredients and equipment you require for success in your personal and professional life.
Imagine, John a teen boy who plans his week including effective time management for his studies, sports, leisure, community, friends, family, health, spirituality and sleep. He plans to work on the most important tasks from the start of the week. He would indeed be way more productive, effective and advanced than others who are busy scrolling their 101st reel.
Now the magic begins!
| Be Proactive | Proactive people are a different breed. Proactive people : Can brush things off without getting offended.Take responsibility for their choicesThink before they actBounce back when something bad happensAlways find a way to move forwardFocus on things they can do something about, and don’t worry about things they can’t. |
| Begin with the End in Mind | Just as when you build a house you draw up a Blueprint , similarly for your life you should create an outline of what you want to be …. A mission statement of your life. A personal mission statement is like a tree with deep roots. You can deal with change if you have an immovable trunk to hang on to. Thinking beyond today can be really exciting and it helps you to take charge of your life and you act accordingly. |
| Put First Things First | To start with, I highly recommend getting a planner or calendar on your computer, phone or on paper – whatever works.Just somewhere with space to write down appointments, to do list and goals. There are some great apps and diaries available (spiral bound) Some of you might be thinking “ I dont want my life to be tied to a planner”. If this is you, keep in mind that a planner wasn’t designed to tie you down but to free you up. With a planner you’ll no longer have to worry about forgetting things or due and tests are to taken. You can keep all of your important information in one place instead of scattered all over. Putting first things first takes courage and it’ll often cause you to stretch outside your comfort zone. |
| Think Win Win | Win-Win is a belief that everyone can win. Its both nice and tough all at once. You care about other people and you want them to succeed. But you also care about yourself, and you want to succeed as well. Win-Win is abundant. It is the belief that there;s plenty of success to go around. It’s neither you or me. Its both of us. |
| Seek first to Understand then to be understood | To understand someone you must listen to them.Listening with just your ears isn’t good enough because only & percent of communication is contained in the words we use. The rest comes from body language (53 percent) and how we say words or the tone and feeling reflected in our voice (40 percent) That’s why when you have something major to say, it is better to do it in person, rather than texting or online so the other person really understands what you mean. Further to hear what other people are really saying, you also need to listen to what they’re ot saying. No matter how hard people may appear on the surface, most everyone is tender inside and has a desperate need to be understood. |
| Synergize | Synergy is everywhere in nature. Many plants and animals live together in symbiotic relationships. Synergy isn’t anything new. A good song is a great example of synergy. It’s not just the beats or vocals or lyrics – its all of them together that make up the sound. Synergy doesn’t just happen. Its a process. You have to get there And the foundation of getting there is : learn to celebrate the differences. |
| Sharpen the Saw | Do you ever feel imbalance, stressed-out or empty inside? If so, Habit 7 is going to be huge help, because it is specially designed to deal with these problems. There are countless ways to expand your mind. The simplest most straightforward approach is to read. Reading to mind is what exercise is to body. |
Following 7 Habits helps you taking tough issues and life changing decisions as teenagers and grown-up effectively. With these habits one can improve self-image, build friendships , resist peer pressure, achieve their goals and get along with their parents to tackle the new challenges of our time like cyberbullying and social media.
